A standoff is ongoing in Midland, Texas, after a shooting near the 4600 block of West Wall Street left one person dead and 11 injured. Midland Police confirmed they were called to the scene and heard gunfire coming from the building. They worked quickly to secure and clear the area.

The city has not confirmed any information about the victims, including their conditions, or the gunman, who is believed to be a single male. No police officers are believed to have been injured. Armored units have been deployed, and other state agencies have been called in to assist.
Midland Mayor Lori Blong confirmed the number of people injured and killed in a post on social media, saying, ‘My heart breaks for the victims and their families. We are praying for every person touched by today’s events and for the law enforcement officers who risked their own safety to protect our community.’
