Michael Kim made history on Friday, shooting a 59 at the 3M Open. This achievement marks the 15th time a player has scored 59 in PGA Tour history.
Kim’s impressive round included five straight birdies starting on the third hole and three more in a four-hole stretch beginning on the ninth. He finished with a 24-foot putt for birdie on the 18th hole at TPC Twin Cities, bringing his total to 14-under for the tournament.
This outstanding performance comes after Kim’s previous career low round of 62. His recent finishes have been less notable, with his best finish in 12 tournaments since being 17th and missing four cuts, including the past three weeks at the British Open, Scottish Open, and John Deere Classic.
