Miami Marlins right-hander Eury Pérez is working on a perfect game through seven innings against the Athletics on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Pérez, who has never pitched a complete game in his major league career, has retired all 21 batters he’s faced with eight strikeouts. Pérez has thrown 92 pitches, 56 for strikes.
The Marlins have not had a perfect game in the 33-year history of the franchise. The last big league pitcher to throw a perfect game was Domingo Germán for the New York Yankees against the A’s on July 28, 2023.
