Buffalo and Johnson County have a rich history. As part of Buffalo’s Red, White and West 250 celebration on July 4, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the new Johnson County History Walk. Johnson County Commissioner’s Assistant Kristen Kenyon served as the master of ceremonies.
Commemorating America’s 250th Anniversary
In February 2025, the Johnson County Commissioners established the Johnson County Semi-Quincentennial Committee to plan the community’s recognition of this historic milestone. The committee aimed to create opportunities to celebrate not only America’s history but also the people, places, and stories that make Johnson County unique.
