Lowe’s offers free flood‑cleanup supply buckets to Bluffton residents

Bluffton, Indiana – As the community continues to recover from the recent floods that inundated homes and roads across northeastern Indiana, Lowe’s is stepping in with tangible assistance. On Monday, Sept. 21, the Lowe’s store at 2105 N. Main St. will host a “Bucket Brigade” from 9 a.m. to noon, distributing over 330 buckets filled with essential recovery items.

Each bucket will contain practical supplies such as sponges, flashlights, bottled water, trash bags, goggles and hand sanitizer – items that families need to begin the clean‑up process safely and efficiently. The supplies are available on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and Lowe’s staff will be on hand to answer questions and help residents load their buckets.

Broadening the effort across the region

Lowe’s says the Bluffton event is part of a larger regional response. This summer the company has organized more than half a dozen Bucket Brigades throughout Indiana and Ohio, targeting communities hit hardest by flooding. Since 2017, Lowe’s reports having distributed more than 100,000 buckets and totes of disaster‑recovery supplies nationwide.

Store associates emphasized that the initiative reflects Lowe’s commitment to the neighborhoods it serves. “We want to be a partner in the recovery effort, providing the tools families need to get back on their feet,” said a Lowe’s manager at the Bluffton location.

How residents can further support relief

In addition to the free supplies, Lowe’s is encouraging shoppers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar through Nov. 3. The rounded‑up funds will be donated to the American Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse, both of which are actively delivering aid to flood‑affected areas.

Local officials have praised the partnership between the retailer and relief organizations. Bluffton Mayor John Miller noted, “Community businesses like Lowe’s play a vital role in helping us rebuild. Their generosity speeds the healing process for families still dealing with water damage.”

Residents who need assistance are urged to arrive early, as the supply stock is limited and will be distributed while supplies last. The event underscores a broader trend of private‑sector involvement in disaster response, offering immediate, on‑the‑ground help that complements state and federal aid.

For more information about the Bucket Brigade or to learn about additional ways to contribute to flood‑relief efforts, Bluffton residents can contact the Lowe’s store directly or visit the company’s website.
