A student from Louisiana will represent the state at the National Civics Bee competition in Washington, D.C. after winning the Louisiana State Civics Bee.

Dominic Ercolini emerged as the winner of the event, which was held at Louisiana State University Shreveport, and took home a $1,000 prize. The competition featured 15 regional finalists from across Louisiana, with students competing in three rounds of questions focused on American government, civics, and community leadership.
After being named the state champion, Ercolini credited his family for encouraging his interest in civics through everyday experiences in the community.
