The Port of Long Beach has purchased a 13-story office tower for $36 million to serve as a hub for maritime companies and boost business in downtown Long Beach.
Revitalizing Downtown
The building, located at 100 Oceangate, is part of the city’s AnchorLB initiative, which aims to attract international shippers, logistics firms, and global trade companies to downtown Long Beach.
According to Noel Hacegaba, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, the office tower is a long-term investment in the city’s growth and development. Mayor Rex Richardson stated that the goal is to utilize the port’s growth to create demand and help downtown recover from high office vacancy rates that have lingered since the pandemic.
