The City of Lompoc has named Kevin Shay as its new Fire Chief. Shay has been serving as Interim Fire Chief since March 26th and has 20 years of experience in fire service, with 18 of those years spent in Lompoc.
Leadership and Experience
Shay has held various roles in the Lompoc Fire Department, including operational, training, EMS, and administrative leadership positions. He is also a faculty member at Allan Hancock College, where he helps train future firefighters.
Lompoc City Manager Dean Albro expressed his excitement about Shay’s appointment, citing his extensive firefighting experience and commitment to public service. Shay stated that he is humbled by the confidence the city has placed in him and looks forward to continuing to serve the community.
