A large water main break early Monday morning has forced part of Lexington Road to shut down as crews work to repair extensive damage in Crescent Hill.
According to Louisville Water, a 24-inch water main broke around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lexington Road and Stilz Avenue.
Officials said the break caused significant damage to the roadway, along with knocking down a tree and damaging nearby power lines, but there is a limited impact to customers’ water service.
Lexington Road is closed between Briar Hill Road and Alta Vista Drive. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
