Kawhi Leonard, the former NBA champion, is being traded back to the Toronto Raptors from the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers will receive Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two first-round picks, one pick swap, and two second-rounders in exchange for Leonard.
Leonard’s Return to Toronto
Leonard, 35, spent the last seven seasons with the Clippers, averaging 25.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Despite his impressive statistics, he struggled with injuries and was never able to consistently stay on the floor and deliver in the postseason.
The Raptors, on the other hand, have been chasing glory since Leonard left as a free agent in 2019. His one season in Toronto was the best in franchise history, with 58 wins and an NBA championship. The team returned to the playoffs last season after three years in the lottery and may see Leonard as a piece to get them back into contention to win the East.
