Lanes of Interstate 40 in Midwest City were closed Monday afternoon due to emergency road repairs. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said westbound I-40 was narrowed to one lane at Southeast 29th Street due to emergency bridge repairs.
ODOT officials said crews found a one-inch-by-two-inch hole in the bridge, and the damage was caused by wear and tear. Drivers were told to find an alternate route or expect congestion in the area.
