Exit 85B, the exit to Oak Street, is now being rerouted to Bonnie Brae Street off Exit 84. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, expect possible delays, and use caution when traveling through the work zone, according to a Denton County newsletter from June 26.
The estimated reopening of Exit 85B is Feb. 1, 2027. The work is part of a $583 million project from TxDOT that will merge I-35E and I-35W. The overall project is expected to be finished by fall 2029.
