Oakland County Animal Control has seized 38 horses from High Vibes Trail Rides in Milford, Michigan, amid an investigation into allegations of animal cruelty, abuse, or neglect.

The investigation has been ongoing for weeks, with Animal Control interviewing witnesses and examining the horses, which are now housed at a rescue facility. The horses were seized with the help of the Milford Police, Kensington Metro Park Rangers, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to Oakland County Animal Control Supervisor Patrick Fanning, the investigation is focused on determining whether the horses were provided with sufficient food, water, shelter, sanitary conditions, exercise, and veterinary medical attention to maintain their health.
Supporters of the owner of High Vibes Trail Rides, Lucie Ptasznik, claim that she has been in business for ten years, has hundreds of great reviews, and has veterinarian reports to prove her horses are well cared for. They suggest that she is the victim of disgruntled former employees who have been trying to damage her reputation and business.
It is important to note that no one has been charged, and it is unclear whether anyone will be charged. The investigation is ongoing.
