Hope Public Schools in Arkansas is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its board of education following the resignation of Zone 2 board member Bubba Powers, effective Saturday.
Application Process
To qualify, applicants must be registered voters residing within the district and Zone 2. Candidates must submit a petition stating their intention to run, along with signatures from at least 20 qualified Zone 2 electors. All application materials and signed petitions must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Sept. 4.
The board will consider applicants during a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the administration building. Each candidate will receive at least 5 minutes to address the board, followed by individual questions. All discussion and voting will occur in open session, and the appointment will be determined by a majority vote.
