Body camera video captured the moments when officers rushed to save a 1-year-old child who was unconscious in a pool in Hialeah. The incident happened on May 12 after the child was found unresponsive in the family’s pool.
In the body camera video, two officers were seen arriving at the home’s backyard. The child’s mother was seen screaming and pleading for them to save her son. One officer then started performing CPR, and the child started expelling water and regained consciousness.
The officer then carried the baby toward a fire rescue truck that arrived at the home. Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo recognized Hialeah Police officers Renato Bejar and Hector Rosado as the two who acted quickly and saved the child.
