A 5-month-old puppy, now named Blossom, is receiving critical care at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) after being found in a Polk County ditch on Saturday, August 8.
Blossom was unable to sit or stand when she was discovered. She weighed less than 10 pounds and, besides being emaciated, was also severely dehydrated.
Blossom is now receiving around-the-clock care as her condition remains critical, according to the rescue organization. Anyone interested in donating to support her care can do so online. Donations are also accepted by mail or in person at 5452 NE 22nd St, Des Moines, Iowa.
