Greer City Council has unanimously approved spending up to $200,000 for a pilot watershed study. The study will involve mapping and inspecting stormwater assets in the city’s Biblebrook watershed.
Project Details
The work will be done by Louisiana-based Compliance EnviroSystems and will involve mapping and inspecting about 76,000 feet of storm drains across more than 900 pipes, according to city stormwater engineer Adam Vidalis.
The main goal of the project is to identify and fix damaged stormwater pipes within the critical watershed. The base bid of $97,495 will cover the costs of mapping and visual inspection. The company also included a bid of $111,000 based on a projection that about 30% of the pipes would require a more extensive CCTV inspection to identify potential problems.
The city council also approved the first of two required readings for a pair of ordinances annexing properties into the city along West Wade Hampton Boulevard near Suber Road.
