The trial for the last of four teens accused of a mass shooting at Young Park in Dona Ana County, New Mexico, has begun. A jury was selected, and opening statements are expected to take place. The mass shooting occurred on March 21, 2025, resulting in the deaths of three teens: 16-year-old Andrew Madrid, 17-year-old Jason Gomez, and 18-year-old Dominick Estrada. More than a dozen people were also injured during the unsanctioned car show at the park.
Previous Convictions
Gustavo Dominguez, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, faces three counts of first-degree murder. In February, his brother Tomas and Nathan Rivas were convicted of the same counts. In April, the third suspect, Josiah Ontiveros, was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder and found not guilty on conspiracy charges.
