Downtown Fort Smith is set to become a cultural hub this weekend, Nov. 5‑7, as three independent arts events converge to highlight the city’s creative community.
Fort Smith International Film Festival
The 6th Annual Fort Smith International Film Festival will screen 142 independent films from international, regional and local filmmakers across nine downtown venues, including the Wyndham Fort Smith City Center, Bakery District, La Huerta, the Fort Smith Museum of History, and more. Early‑bird VIP passes are $35 through Oct. 2, and tickets are available at FortSmithFilm.com.
Red Autumn Art Festival
Running alongside the film festival, the fourth annual Red Autumn Art Festival will take place at the Wyndham Fort Smith City Center, 700 Rogers Ave., on Nov. 6‑7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event features an indoor art market with regional artists, live entertainment, student and juried art competitions, and additional independent film screenings.
Garrison Arts Walk
The inaugural Garrison Arts Walk invites residents and visitors to explore historic downtown Fort Smith on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local and regional artists, artisans, makers, musicians and performers will display their work inside downtown businesses and select outdoor spaces, offering a chance to meet creators and purchase original artwork.
Volunteer Opportunities
The film festival is also seeking volunteers to greet filmmakers and audiences, attend panels and help ensure a smooth event. Interested individuals can register at FortSmithFilm.com/Volunteer.
These three events together provide a weekend of film, visual art, music and community engagement, reinforcing Fort Smith’s vibrant cultural scene.
