A lightning strike on Fort Myers Beach has left one person dead and multiple others injured. The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department responded to the 6600 block of Estero Blvd. on Friday afternoon, where they found four patients. Despite efforts to revive the unresponsive individual, including the use of an AED by a bystander, the person was pronounced dead.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that at least three people were transported to local hospitals for medical evaluation. Officials are urging residents and visitors to be aware of the weather and environment.
