Republican candidate for Florida Governor James Fishback announced he will hold a press conference in Tallahassee on Thursday, August 6, alleging that a whistleblower has come forward with evidence of illegal conduct by U.S. Representative Byron Donalds.
Fishback’s Allegations
In a video address, Fishback said a whistleblower approached his campaign with evidence concerning his primary opponent. Fishback stated that his legal team has reviewed the material provided by the source and found it to be “incontrovertible” and “damning”.
Fishback called on Donalds to publicly address his personal record prior to the event, saying “You and I both know what you did. Let’s just be honest, and if you come to the public and share the full extent of your criminal history, I will cancel my press conference.” Fishback also invoked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, stating that “sunshine is always the best disinfectant”.
