The Democratic conference featured several prominent political figures, including former U.S. Representative David Jolly, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Alex Vindman, and current U.S. Representatives Jared Moskowitz, Darren Soto, and Kathy Castor. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg served as the event’s headliner.

Republican officials argued that the attendees and speakers represent a platform that Florida voters have previously rejected at the ballot box. They pointed to the state’s shifting political landscape as evidence of voter sentiment, noting that registered Republicans now outnumber registered Democrats in Florida by a historic margin of more than 1.5 million voters.

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power issued a statement accusing the opposition party of failing to present a new vision for the state’s future. ‘Leadership Blue wasn’t a vision for Florida’s future, it was a retirement party for a party that ran out of ideas years ago,’ Power said.

Power concluded his remarks by reaffirming the state GOP’s commitment to its core platform. ‘Republicans will never stop fighting to keep Florida the Great and Free State it is — secure borders, low taxes, and zero tolerance for the socialism Democrats keep trying to force on us,’ Power said.
