These commanders represent a younger generation of Ukrainian officers who have been shaped by combat against Russian troops.
A poll showed that 61% of Ukrainians were against the dismissal of Fedorov, indicating significant public support for the ousted minister. Zelenskiy’s chief of staff, Kyrylo Budanov, called for unity and restraint in the wake of the protests, promising a constructive response to the public’s concerns.
