A shooting outside the Ultra Lounge on East Hampden Avenue in Denver early Monday left one person dead and eight others injured.
Denver police are still racing to identify a suspect or suspects in the act of mass violence, Chief Ron Thomas said in a press conference Monday morning.
Chief Thomas said the eight other injured victims all suffered gunshot wounds of varying degrees of seriousness and are receiving care at nearby hospitals.
The shooting may have been an extension of an earlier confrontation in Aurora that spilled over to Ultra Lounge, which was the location of an afterparty for the previous event, according to Thomas.
Police do not currently believe the incident was gang-related, Thomas said.
Police responded to at least four other unrelated shootings this weekend in Denver, totaling at least five deaths, Thomas said.
