A fireworks show in Wilson County was cut short Saturday night after one person was injured. The Wilson County Fair posted on Facebook: “It is with sincere apologies I have to inform everyone that our fireworks are over for the evening. There was an accident while setting them off and due to safety reasons, we cannot detonate the remaining fireworks.”
A witness, Joshua Sexton, sent video to WRAL News showing fireworks exploding dangerously close to the ground. Multiple people commented on Facebook that the fireworks were too close to the ground.
WRAL News is working to learn more about what happened and about the condition of the person who was hurt.
