Gov. Mike Braun announced that the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA will conduct preliminary damage assessments in Indiana following last month’s severe flooding and storms. This process is an important step in determining whether a federal disaster declaration should be requested.
Several counties, including Harrison and Jefferson, will undergo individual assistance assessments. Additionally, counties such as Clark, Floyd, and Scott will receive public assistance assessments. Officials said that as more information is gathered, additional counties may also be assessed.
