Abdikerm Eidleh, a 42-year-old suspect in the Feeding Our Future fraud case, has been extradited from Somalia to the United States. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Minnesota, FBI agents escorted Eidleh to Minnesota, where he is now in custody in the Sherburne County Jail.
Extradition Process
Eidleh was arrested in Mogadishu, Somalia, on June 26 by law enforcement officials, with the assistance of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency, the Security Agency of Somalia, and the Somali Police Force. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs also provided valuable assistance in securing Eidleh’s return to the United States.
Eidleh was allegedly the second-biggest player in the Feeding Our Future fraud case, which involved several people who were convicted of recruiting others into the scheme and collecting kickbacks from the nonprofit organization. The scheme resulted in the misappropriation of over $250 million in federal funding.
