A 43-year-old St. Petersburg man died following a collision with an SUV on Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on July 16, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m. State troopers reported that a 37-year-old Seminole woman was driving a Jeep Wagoneer southbound on 131st Street North. At the same time, the St. Petersburg man was riding an e-bike northbound along the west shoulder of the same road.
According to the crash report, the incident happened just north of 102nd Avenue North when the bicyclist traveled into the southbound lane, entering the path of the oncoming Jeep. The vehicle then collided with the bicyclist.
The e-bike rider sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported by emergency services to a local hospital. Investigators confirmed he later died from the injuries he suffered during the crash. FHP has not released the names of either individual involved.
