FBI Requests Photos and Video from West Tuscaloosa Shooting that Injured Eight

West Tuscaloosa residents are being asked to help investigators piece together the details of a Saturday night shooting that left eight people wounded. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has set up an online tip line where anyone who was present at the scene, or who captured footage nearby, can upload photographs, cellphone video, surveillance recordings or any other relevant information.

Incident Overview

Police responded to the 2600 block of 22nd Street shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Saturday after multiple reports of gunfire. Initial reports identified seven victims; a eighth person arrived at a local hospital on Sunday with a graze wound, bringing the total number of wounded to eight.

Captain Marty Sellers, co‑commander of the Tuscaloosa Police Violent Crimes Unit (VCU), said three of the victims sustained serious injuries but all were reported stable on Sunday. The VCU continues to work the case in partnership with FBI agents from the Birmingham field office.

FBI Tip Line Details

The FBI’s tip line can be accessed at fbi.gov/tuscaloosashooting. The portal allows users to upload files directly to investigators. For larger files that cannot be uploaded online, callers can reach the FBI at 1‑800‑CALL‑FBI.

Authorities stress that any visual material—whether taken from a phone, dash cam, security system or other source—could prove critical in identifying the shooter(s) and understanding the sequence of events.

Police Statement

Chief of Police and VCU officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and that they will release additional information as it becomes available. Community members are encouraged to come forward, even if they believe their footage may be of limited relevance.

How to Contribute

Anyone who was in the vicinity of 22nd Street on Saturday night, or who captured any audio or visual recordings of the incident, should consider submitting their material through the FBI’s secure portal or by phone. Law enforcement officials assure the public that all tips will be handled confidentially and evaluated promptly.

Public Safety Context

While violent incidents are rare in Tuscaloosa, this shooting underscores the importance of community cooperation with law‑enforcement agencies. The combined effort of local police and federal investigators aims to bring swift justice and enhance public safety for the residents of west Tuscaloosa.
