Triple shooting in Little Havana leaves two dead, three injured

Miami police are investigating a deadly shooting that unfolded early Saturday morning at a residence on Northwest 17th Street and Third Avenue in Little Havana. The incident, which appears to be domestic‑related, left two people dead—a man and a woman—and injured three others, including a 32‑year‑old man, a 13‑year‑old girl and a baby.

Witness accounts

One witness, who asked to remain unnamed, said he arrived at the home to pick up his friend Juan Carlos for work, as he does each morning. He heard a door being knocked aggressively, followed by gunshots. “I never imagined who that guy was,” he told Telemundo 51.

According to the witness, Juan Carlos opened the door and the shooter forced his way inside. The witness stepped out of his car to intervene, but was met with another gunshot. Moments later, Juan Carlos emerged bleeding, cradling a young girl. “Help, save the girl,” the wounded man shouted.

The witness grabbed the girl and fled, but the gunman pursued, firing at Juan Carlos again before retreating into the house. Police arrived shortly after, directing the witness and others to take cover. The shooter then re‑entered the home, shot and killed a woman, and subsequently took his own life.

Additional survivor statements

Another man who lives in the home with Juan Carlos reported he was asleep when the shooting began. He heard a shout, a cry, and a gunshot, describing the scene as “frustrating” and “shocking.” He recalled the woman inside the house yelling for everyone to get out, ultimately sacrificing herself to protect her child.

The surviving 13‑year‑old girl was treated for lacerations that were not caused by a knife, according to Miami Fire Rescue. A baby was also reported to have been inside the home, though police have not confirmed that detail.

Investigation continues

Police have not yet identified the shooter or confirmed the relationships among the victims. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not verified the witness’s account of how the two victims inside the home died.

Miami‑Dade Police Department urges anyone with additional information to contact them. The department will release further details as the investigation progresses.
