Tony Falcone, a renowned artist, has been painting murals for 52 years. Unfortunately, many of his works have been lost due to demolition. However, some of his art has been preserved, including his notable work ‘Fast Track’, which was featured at the Wallace Street history museum and cultural hub in New Haven.

Preserving Artistic History

Falcone presented a 20-image slide show at the 45th PechaKucha in New Haven, showcasing his work, including ‘Fast Track’, which was painted on the curved walls of the former Sports Haven building. The building is slated for demolition, but Robert Greenberg, founder of Lost in New Haven, stepped in to create an exhibit featuring Falcone’s work, including sketches, a model of the building, and his tools.

The preservation of Falcone’s art is a celebration of his career and a testament to the power of art in preserving history. As Greenberg noted, ‘In my world, everything is about timing’, and the preservation of Falcone’s work is a prime example of this.
