Ex-Prosecutor Warns of Safety Concerns

Former prosecutor Adam Levy is warning of safety concerns ahead of the Knicks victory parade in New York City, following chaotic celebrations that saw a 17-year-old shot in Times Square and numerous arrests.

Levy’s Warning

Levy, the son of Judge Judith Sheindlin, emphasized that the law-abiding citizens were the ones most impacted by the violence and destruction that marred the celebrations. He noted that the vast majority of fans celebrated peacefully, but a small minority of individuals caused chaos and destruction.

Levy attributed the lawless environment to a lack of parental responsibility, failed schools, and a failure of government to enforce the law and hold people accountable. He warned that if the perpetrators are not held accountable, it will send the wrong message and encourage similar behavior in the future.

Concerns for the Parade

Levy expressed concern for the safety of law-abiding citizens who want to attend the victory parade with their families. He noted that the politicians and government officials who are responsible for ensuring public safety are often separated from the crowds and do not have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Levy’s comments come as the city prepares for the Knicks victory parade, which is expected to draw large crowds. He urged the authorities to take a firm stance against any violence or destruction and to ensure that those who break the law are held accountable.
