Former NFL reporter Dianna Russini was stopped in Ridgewood, New Jersey, for using her phone while driving. Bodycam footage shows Russini trying to get out of a traffic ticket by showing the officer texts with Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Russini’s Interaction with the Officer
Russini told the officer she was an NFL reporter and had been covering the news of Seam McDermott’s firing from the Bills. She claimed she was on her way to make calls and had an emergency for her job.
The officer replied that Russini had been on her phone for a while before pulling her over, but acknowledged she had a job to do. Russini then asked the officer if he was a Giants or Jets fan, and when he said he was a Vikings fan, she showed him texts with O’Connell.
The conversation led to the officer letting Russini off with a warning. The Ridgewood Police Department said the officer exercised his professional discretion in issuing a verbal warning.
