Colby Kistner, a summer intern from Florida, is heading back home after a three-month internship with EdNews in Idaho. Despite being unfamiliar with the state, Kistner eased into his role, interviewing various education leaders and writing about education topics.
Idaho Experience
Kistner’s highlight was covering a Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce conference featuring Secretary of State Phil McGrane. He also enjoyed exploring Boise, particularly the Boise River Greenbelt and Broadway Street, and visiting his favorite restaurant, Tavolata.
Kistner is returning to the University of Florida for his final year, where he will be part of a special project for ESPN Gainesville and will return to The Alligator for a third semester. He hopes his experience with EdNews will help him effect positive change and hold leaders accountable in his future journalism career.
