Greg Schiller, CEO of the Child Rescue Coalition, highlighted the risks of sharing too much information in these photos.

Schiller advised parents to avoid including identifiers such as school names, teachers, classrooms, or house numbers in their photos, explaining that these details can help online predators locate children. “We take liberties with the information that we put online, not really thinking about who might actually be watching it,” Schiller said.

Schiller encouraged parents to talk with their children about online safety, including avoiding interactions with strangers and reporting suspicious activity. The goal is not to discourage parents from sharing these milestones but to ensure identifying information is removed before posting.
