Ed Harris, who plays veterinarian Everett McKinney in the ‘Yellowstone’ spin-off ‘Dutton Ranch’, has expressed his disappointment with the show’s producers. Harris felt ‘underused and inconsequential’ during the filming of the first season.
Harris’ Frustrations
Harris revealed that he was initially told his character would be one of the four main characters, but this was not the case. He felt ‘misled’ about the importance of his role and reached his breaking point by the middle of filming.
Harris confronted the production team about his concerns, but did not identify Taylor Sheridan by name. He was told his character would have more to do in Season 2, but this did not alleviate his frustration at the time.
Harris also mentioned a specific scene where his character was invited to sing in a bar, but the musical moment was removed from the production. The producers claimed it was ‘too ‘up’ for the dark ending of that episode’.
