Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward has agreed to a two-year, $62.2 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. The deal includes $52.3 million guaranteed.
Contract Details
Ward, 29, had two years left on a five-year, $100.5 million contract extension signed in 2022. His new annual average salary of $31.1 million edges him ahead of Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie, who signed a four-year, $124 million extension in March.
Ward, a native of Macedonia, Ohio, was the fourth overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has 361 career tackles, 18 interceptions, and 104 passes defended in 110 regular-season games for the Browns.
