Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer addressed the media Monday morning in Tuscaloosa, providing the latest health updates on several Crimson Tide players as the program heads into the final week of fall camp before opening the season against East Carolina.
Lotzeir Brooks
DeBoer said sophomore wide receiver Lotzeir “Lotty” Brooks is “out there practicing, taking reps, close to full‑go” and has been working at that level for several days. Brooks, a New Jersey native who burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2025, finished last season with 32 receptions for 441 yards and two touchdowns, both coming in the College Football Playoff against Oklahoma.
EJ Crowell
The former five‑star running back from Jackson, Alabama, is “slowly progressing,” DeBoer noted, adding that he hopes Crowell will be ready for the first game, though a definitive timeline remains uncertain. Crowell has not yet participated in a scrimmage since arriving at Alabama in January, but he is expected to be a key contributor to the run game when healthy after rushing for over 2,000 yards in his senior year of high school.
Noah Rogers
Transfer wide receiver Noah Rogers, who missed the start of camp due to a lower‑body injury suffered at NC State’s A‑Day, is “much ahead of schedule” in his recovery, according to DeBoer. The coach praised Rogers’ mindset and positivity, noting that while Rogers is not yet taking part in full team drills, he is moving around the field and making progress faster than originally expected. Rogers arrived from NC State after two seasons in which he recorded 68 receptions for 919 yards and three touchdowns.
Jeremiah Beaman
Defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman suffered an injury during Sunday’s practice. DeBoer said the staff has an idea of the nature of the injury but will wait to comment until more information is available, likely tomorrow. Beaman, entering his third year with the Tide, appeared in only the season‑opening game last year before tearing his ACL in the following week’s practice.
Upcoming Schedule
Alabama will resume practice Tuesday, August 25, for the 16th session of fall camp. The Crimson Tide are slated to open the 2026 season at home against East Carolina on Saturday, September 5, with kickoff set for 11:00 a.m.
