The Deakyne family of Santa Barbara has been passionate supporters of US Soccer for twenty years. Tim and Jenny Deakyne spent their honeymoon in Germany attending US men’s soccer games during the World Cup in 2006.
A Family Affair
Last month, Tim and Jenny cheered on a 4-1 US victory over Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Their family has grown with six kids, and family vacations are often planned around World Cup host countries. They have attended men’s and women’s World Cup matches in Germany, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, Qatar, and the United States.
With this year’s tournament on home soil, the Deakyne’s did less traveling than usual but made it to all five matches involving Team USA with games in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Santa Clara. The 2027 Women’s World Cup is in Brazil, and some members of the Deakyne family will be cheering on the United States in person.
