The Crescent Hill Fourth of July festival is celebrating its 41st year, and it’s a party for everyone. On the eve of America’s 250th birthday, Erin Klarer was busy leading the setup of the celebration.

The festival, held at the historic Peterson Dumesnil House, is a packed day starting at 10 a.m. with an artists’ market, pet competitions, and live music. According to Klarer, the benefits of the event go way beyond a couple of laughs and fireworks.

Klarer mentioned that she studied healthy neighborhoods and part of health is social. This event is a great way for people to connect with other human beings, put their screens down, and interact with real people.

The fireworks show will start at 10 p.m. Saturday night. The Crescent Hill Fourth of July celebration is the longest-running Fourth of July celebration in Louisville.
