County Roofing, a roofing contractor serving Long Island and the greater New York City area for over 35 years, has earned the new CertainTeed ShingleMaster PREMIER credential, the highest level of professional certification offered by CertainTeed, one of North America’s leading roofing product manufacturers.
Credential Requirements
The ShingleMaster PREMIER designation is not an application-based credential. It is earned through a series of educational and accreditation steps, along with ongoing verification by the manufacturer. The achievement completes County Roofing’s standing as one of the few contractors in the Long Island and New York metro area to hold the top-tier credential from all three major roofing manufacturers.
Earning the credential carries specific requirements. All job supervisors and at least half of a company’s shingle installation crew must be credentialed as Master Shingle Applicators through CertainTeed’s testing and re-accreditation process. At least one employee must hold the Shingle Quality Specialist designation, which requires passing an examination on CertainTeed’s Shingle Technology Manual covering product knowledge, quality standards, and customer satisfaction objectives.
A qualifying company must also maintain a minimum of five years in business, carry full workers’ compensation and liability insurance, abide by CertainTeed’s Code of Ethics and Professional Practices, and hold a customer satisfaction rating of four or higher on a five-point scale.
Benefits to Homeowners
The credential gives homeowners access to CertainTeed’s SureStart PLUS 5-STAR warranty, which only ShingleMaster PREMIER contractors are authorized to offer. According to CertainTeed, the warranty includes both workmanship and material coverage and is backed directly by the manufacturer, meaning that if an installation issue arises, CertainTeed itself stands behind the repair.
