Clemson Paw Partners, a nonprofit organization based in Central, South Carolina, has announced plans to construct a new veterinary care facility valued at $5 million. The facility, located at 1130 Greenville Highway, aims to provide families in the Upstate region with more options for affordable veterinary care.
Supporting Families and Pets
Margaret Thompson, founder and president of Clemson Paw Partners, emphasized the importance of the expansion in aiding pet owners who struggle to afford care or secure appointments. The facility will offer a range of services including affordable spay and neuter procedures, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, flea and tick prevention, and feral cat management support.
Thompson stated, “Our goal is to provide compassionate, affordable services while helping reduce pet overpopulation across our region.” The organization plans to complete the project without incurring debt, having purchased the land outright. Funding for the construction will come from fundraising, grants, donations, and community support.
Debt-Free Expansion
By remaining debt-free, Clemson Paw Partners intends to focus on maintaining affordable care and reinvesting resources directly into services for animals and families. The construction is expected to be completed by the summer of 2027, with a priority on finishing the spay and neuter clinic to begin operations during the remainder of the construction phase.
Established in 2017, Clemson Paw Partners has been dedicated to serving low-income pet owners in Pickens County and surrounding communities. The nonprofit opened its first low-cost clinic in Central in 2022, and this new facility marks a significant step in expanding their reach and impact.
