Christian Leaders Unite Against Antisemitism

Christian leaders from around the world convened in Jerusalem for an emergency summit to address the growing concern of antisemitism. The three-day conference, organized by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), brought together over 200 theologians, pastors, and ministry leaders from more than 30 countries.

Fighting Antisemitism

ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler emphasized the importance of combating antisemitism, stating that it is essential for the survival of the Christian faith. He noted that attacking Jews means attacking the roots of one’s own faith, as Jesus was Jewish. Dr. Bühler also highlighted the need to connect with the Jewish people, citing the Bible’s eternal plan, which includes the Jewish people.

One of the central themes of the conference was Replacement Theology, a doctrine that holds the Church has replaced the Jewish people in God’s plan. Dr. Bühler argued that this doctrine is contrary to the teachings of the New and Old Testaments. He emphasized the importance of understanding the Jewishness of the Bible and the connection between Jesus and Israel.

Support from Israeli Leaders

Israeli President Isaac Herzog addressed the conference, thanking Christian leaders for mobilizing against antisemitism. He emphasized the need for a combination of law enforcement, adjudication, and education to counter antisemitism. Herzog also expressed his appreciation for the support of Christian leaders, stating that they have a significant role in fighting against antisemitism.

Other notable speakers at the conference included Israel’s newly appointed Special Envoy to the Christian world, George Deek, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. The conference also featured discussions on the importance of biblical literacy and the need to promote solidarity between Christians and Jews.

Combating Antisemitism

Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement, highlighted the challenges faced by Christians and Jews in defending their faith, history, and future. He emphasized the need for Christians to understand the alignment between the Jewish and Christian worldviews and to recognize the importance of supporting Israel.

The conference concluded with a call to action, urging Christian leaders to return to their communities empowered with knowledge, energy, and tools to fight against antisemitism. The event aimed to promote a deeper understanding and solidarity between Christians and Jews, and to combat the rising tide of antisemitism worldwide.
