New Mexico Seeks Input on I-10 Bridge Replacement

The New Mexico Department of Transportation is seeking public feedback on a project to replace four aging Interstate 10 bridges in the Mesilla Valley area of Doña Ana County.

Project Details

The project calls for replacing four bridges along I-10, including two at Fairacres Road near milepost 136.95 and two at Avenida de Mesilla near milepost 140.72. Roadway improvements are also planned to bring the corridor up to current safety standards.

According to NMDOT, the bridges were built in 1971 and are showing signs of age and deterioration after more than five decades of use. Replacing the structures will improve safety, enhance roadway stability, reduce maintenance needs, and provide more reliable travel for motorists.

Project details and environmental documents are available online during the public review period, which opened on June 10 and runs through June 25.
