Chicagoans can enjoy free admission to the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Museum of Ice Cream on Thursday as part of the Every Child Thrives Festival.
Every Child Thrives Festival
The Every Child Thrives Festival, held in Hyde Park Tuesday-Thursday, features multigenerational workshops, panels and creative spaces designed to “elevate youth leadership, foster intergenerational collaboration and turn ideas into action,” according to the festival’s website.
Those taking advantage of Thursday’s free museum admission do not need to attend the festival.
Visitors to the Chicago Children’s Museum, on Navy Pier at 600 E. Grand Ave., can check out their newest exhibition: a replica of the skull of a recently discovered species of spinosaurus presented by the University of Chicago’s Fossil Lab. Advanced tickets for Thursday’s free admission are sold out, but limited additional tickets will be available at the museum on the day of the event.
Guests can call 312-527-1000 or email [email protected] to confirm ticket availability. More information about free admission can be found on the Chicago Children’s Museum website.
The museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Visitors must bring a child to be admitted.
The Museum of Ice Cream, 435 N. Michigan Ave., features interactive ice cream-themed exhibits like a miniature golf course complete with comically large sweet treats and a swimming pool of jumbo-sized sprinkles. Advanced tickets for Thursday’s free admission are available on its website.
