A local church, nonprofit, and fire department in Centerton teamed up on Saturday to help students head back to school with confidence. More than 150 students received new athletic shoes during the third annual ‘Kicks for Kids’ event at a Centerton fire station.
The event provided students with new shoes, socks, and hygiene supplies. Students also received handwritten encouragement notes and had the opportunity to meet firefighters, tour the station, and learn about firefighting equipment.
Organizers said the goal of the event was to support local families, remove barriers to learning, and give students a positive start to the school year. Newsong Church, Samaritan’s Feet, and the Centerton Fire Department partnered to make it all possible.
