On the Lower East Side, a man was shot by an NYPD officer after charging at the officer with a knife. The incident occurred at 126 Ludlow Street around 4 p.m. Sunday.
According to police sources, officers responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about a person armed with a weapon. Once they arrived, the man charged at the officer with a knife and was then shot.
The suspect was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The investigation is ongoing.
