Cancer and health screenings are now covered under the State of Connecticut Employee Health Plan and the Connecticut Partnership Plan, according to a spokesperson for Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut.
Any career or volunteer firefighter in the state can now receive a cancer screening at a discounted price of $349 if they are not on one of the two insurance plans that cover it, according to a UPFFA spokesperson.
The screenings will be held at the UConn Fire Department on 126 North Eagleville Rd. from July 9-11. Screenings will take about 30 minutes to complete.
