Caitlin Clark, the All-Star guard for the Indiana Fever, left the game against Phoenix with a back injury in the third quarter. Clark had been dealing with a back issue this season and had previously missed one game due to it.
She appeared to tweak her back in the second quarter when she was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer. Clark fell to the ground and was rubbing her back as she stood up. Despite the injury, Clark finished the game with 19 points and 8 assists in 20 minutes.
Clark is currently second in All-Star fan voting, behind teammate Aliyah Boston. The Fever are petitioning the league to have Clark’s fifth technical foul rescinded.
