What happens when the education system in the United States is used as a tool for conquest? Frank Gaffney, host of Securing America, recently discussed this issue with Dr. Karen Siegemund, president of the American Freedom Alliance. Dr. Siegemund, a former teacher, has seen firsthand the ways in which our educational system is being used to promote leftist ideologies and undermine traditional values. As she noted, ‘to say that America is a great country is counter to the dominant narrative in most schools.’ This is a disturbing trend, one that has serious implications for the future of our nation.

‘The assumption is that we’re all Democrats, we’re all as left-leaning as possible, we’re all pro-Obama, pro-Biden, pro-Hillary, probably pro-Kamala,’ Dr. Siegemund explained. ‘If you mention anything good about Western civilization or America, you wind up with your job in peril.’ This is the kind of environment that allows totalitarian ideologies to take hold, as educators who promote anti-American values are rewarded and those who uphold traditional values are punished.

The Consequences of Indoctrination

The consequences of this kind of indoctrination are far-reaching and devastating. As Dr. Siegemund noted, ‘what comes out of these schools are the Zoomers, the Gen Xers. What we are seeing is the product of exactly this indoctrination, the consequences of the left’s long march.’ The result is a generation of Americans who are increasingly hostile to traditional values and increasingly receptive to totalitarian ideologies. This is a recipe for disaster, as our nation’s future is shaped by individuals who have been indoctrinated with anti-American values.

Preserving Our Freedom

So what can be done to preserve our freedom and protect our educational system from those who seek to undermine it? Frank Gaffney and Dr. Siegemund discussed the importance of promoting American exceptionalism and upholding traditional values in our schools. As Gaffney noted, ‘we must adopt standards that affirm American exceptionalism and promote liberty, and reject alternatives and amendments proposed by those determined to weaponize our schools to undermine our country.’ This is a critical step in the battle to preserve our nation’s future and protect our children from the forces of conquest that seek to destroy our way of life.
